Well I am someone who is always open to change. Nothing is more easy to change than a website, whether it’s a new feature or just a complete redesign. I tend to just start over (not really, but I heavily modify my old theme) which is why I have made a new theme. I thought my previous theme, Blank, was the minimal as it gets however this new theme is just so basic and simple, something I like yet so easy to look at if that makes sense.

I don’t know if I am gonna make it a free download anytime soon but I am gonna create a portfolio page, showcasing my themes and sites I have developed over the last 2 years. Why the sudden change from a video oriented site to a portfolio you might ask? Well I want to become a freelance web designer on the holidays to make some fast cash which will hopefully ease my study load during Uni and I think a site like what I am thinking will seal the deal when it comes to getting some clients.

So perhaps in a few months I’ll release all my themes for download. Stay tuned!

P.S. The new theme is called Turbo which, by the way, means ‘fast’ in latin.

The basic goal of the theme was to make it a light coloured, shades of grey type theme with a minimalistic touch.

Some cool features are as follows:

Toggle the side bar; For those smaller browsers

About Section; Located in the footer. Can include a personal photo if you wish with acompanying text

Separated Trackbacks and Comments

Stylized Comment sections; Speech bubble type style

Customizable Banner; Defaults to Text of Blog Heading

Built in Widgets; Latest Posts, Archives and Categories. Can be turned off too

Custom Title input; Change the thing at the top of the browser

Valid (x)html (Strict) and Valid CSS 2.1/3 (More towards CSS3 though)

And last but not least, a fluid layout.

To do list:

Comment Pagination

Dropdown Menus for top Navigation

Threaded Comments

Equal-Heights-Thingy for the footer

Most of those things however, aren’t too important anyway. But I’ll try and knock them off slowly. If you think I should do something more, then suggest it but keep in mind this is a lighweight, basic theme.

It will be released very soon. I just have to test out some stuff and clean up the CSS.

Well the day is here, which was actually yesterday. I finally got my Ps (Provisional License (Red)) which allows me to drive by myself on the road.. in my car. I must say it’s a huge relief. Those 2 hour bus rides to get home, yes, 2 freaking hours of sitting down waiting on a bus everyday for the past semester and a half at uni to get home was not fun. Now those trips are cut down by 1.25 hours depending on how bad Queensland drivers want to be.

I find it baffling when at least 80% of people driving with me have been on these roads before yet still don’t jump in the right lane to let people on the highway or get up to 100km/h BEFORE coming on the highway. I find that is usually the cause of most traffic issues. The downside of course is, I pay for my own petrol which isn’t too bad but now I understand why people were so pedantic with petrol money and now I am.

The upside is I can get to work now. Before I couldn’t which was a bit annoying since buses, for me, were rarely precisely on time which I needed for connecting buses and therefore I couldn’t make it to work for a 6pm start, after 6 hours or more of Uni.

For those interested I study Civil Engineering. Compressing that into 3 days per week was the worst idea ever. At least with monstrous gaps I was forced to study now I am literally burnt out every Wednesday. I usually go to sleep at 9pm wake up at 12am, then go back to sleep because of just how tired I get. Getting home at 7pm from those bus rides wasn’t much help either especially the somewhat cols nights waiting for buses.

Well the day as finally come, my WordPress theme was approved. It feels good since I basically tought myself everything and to know it made it into the Themes Directory is awesome even though it was fourth time lucky! If you want to download it click here! Head to the themes page if you want to see a little more about it or just browse my site for the complete tour.

There were only really two problems, them thinking this wasn’t my personal site and not having theme options however I overcame those issues eventually. Thanks again if you download it and make sure you return, I am always updating the theme to make it better for you!

Well I haven’t been editing many videos lately but what I have been doing is making this theme called RubiX (I say Rubi -X, you can call it whatever you want!). Hopefully soon you’ll be able to download it (for free) just as soon as WordPress approves it to enter their themes directory. It’s better to have it there so it gets more exposure and is kept up to the standards. Check out the themes page is the next week if you’re interested.

Haven’t been making many video lately for one main reason. YouTube is getting the squeeze on copyrighted content and doing the good ol’ “only allowed in these countries” act. Sadly my viewership as dropped by half from this. Meaning a) I’m not going up the rankings anymore (more like going down) and b) Half my audience is gone. When I get some more time/motivation I’ll get back into it

That’s about it for now, I’m gonna be posting more stuff in my blog now as well, stay tuned!

Travis Pastrana, a legend in everything Motocross is making a comeback to what he loves most; Supercross! After a 3 year break from any AMA Supercross racing, that being Daytona 2006 where he had shown so much promise but went down in the whoops (Watch Racing Days Vol.1 to see), now he is back and has been training for 2 weeks solid. No doubt the 199 could beat 80% of the riders that line up to the gate week in, week out without training, now lets see how much he can improve.

The track will play to his advantage since he was part of it’s design and no doubt he added in aspects that will help him get along. The only thing that Travis has to watch out for is crashing. It seems everybody’s favourite racer just couldn’t seem to stay on the bike long enough to grab an AMA 250cc/Pro Class wins but perhaps now it’s time. No doubt Stewart and Reed won’t give Travis an inch, they have the championship. Similarly to Jason Lawrence at Daytona this year, Travis also has nothing to lose so he’ll be going all out this time.

If you’re going to the race be sure to mention KICKERMAN360 and KICKERfilm.com to Travis! Or if you’re like me you’ll be watching the broadcast which airs on either CBS or SpeedTV this weekend. Check your local listings.

Another (in my opinion) boring race, the season looked like a close Reed-Stewart and perhaps Ryan Villopoto and Reed in the mix, but it’s turned out to be a James Stewart show (again). Winning both his heat race and the main event, Stewart gained a substantial lead over 2nd place. Reed came out of the first corner in 4th, passing Ryan Villopoto and team mate Mike Alessi but unable to even challenge Stewart. Alessi eventually dropped back a few more places when the Redbull Honda riders and Kevin Windham charged through. Villopoto has picked up the speed, this week being able to keep up with Chad Reed and finally, for the first time this year, he didn’t stack it or fall over like he usually does. Bad luck for my Kawasaki fave, Tim Ferry, he was caught up in his heat race holeshot and got run over b a few riders, maybe he should relax and take it easy for the motocross season? Here’s the podium:

Stewart

Reed

Villopoto

And this week I didn’t do a video about the SX Lites reason being, I haven’t got the race yet. I might do a double race wrap up next week but don’t count on it! So I don’t even know the results!

Enjoy
