So as almost everyone who knows me knows, I’m a pretty big fan of motorcycles. My favourites are dirtbikes and supersport/sport/naked road bikes though. So far I have a 1998 CR125 and 1996 (sold in 1998) CBR250RR with a Tyga fairing kit and it looks so awesome. However, as much as I love these bikes, I still want more! And very specific ones to boot! Here’s a list:

• Polaris Trailboss 250 or 350 (Don’t know the displacement but it was 4×4 and had a black grill with extra headlights at the front. I think it was a 250cc bike)
• 1996 Honda CR250 McGrath Replica. This bike looks so good and has so much history.
• 2007+ Honda CRF250R. As much as I love a 2 stroke, I think it is time to move on and get a 4t.
• EFI Honda CRF450X. I wouldn’t mind having a dual purpose bike of sorts. I like trail riding, but electric start makes it so much better.
• Honda NSR250 or 500. Good ol’ 2 stroke road racers. I think it would be very fun to ride.
• Honda VFR400. Same story, except I like the look of this one more so than the NSR because it has a very snazzy single sided swing arm.
• Honda CBR600RR (Green coloured ones with under-tail exhaust). The big brother to my current bike. My favourite modern looking road bike.
• 2007 CR125 and CR250. The last of the 2 strokes. Over 30 years of development on a single bike – impressive to say the least, and the start of ‘race ready’ dirt bikes.

Some of the things I am wishing for and I’ll cross them off when I get them:

• Architects Lamp ~$100 Only $25, but I got another lamp as well, $75
• Julbo Drus Sunglasses (Jamie Hyneman wears them) ~$100 Only $76!
• Dwight Schrute Bobble Head  ~$50 Changed my mind, don’t want it.
• Power Risers  (Stilts with springs) ~$500 The price went up, too expensive.
• Motorized Unicycle ~$1700 Changed my mind, don’t want it.
• Motocross Pants, Jersey and boots ~$500 + a Red Bull Hoody were $650 but my mum paid for the boots ($310)
• Dirt bike (4 Stroke 250 would be nice) >$5000
• Honda VTR 250 – $4000 (2nd Hand)
• Erik Buell Racing 1125R – $15900
• RC Helicopter ~$400

As you can see my list is pretty small, and some things are fairly cheap like a lamp but these are some things I have always wanted. But like with anything, most of those are fairly expensive and I guess I’m the only one who can buy it. Which is what I plan on doing.

And now, the to-do list for the holidays. I better write this down or else I’ll forget.

• Deadmau5 Mau5head
• Rebuild the currently broken pit-bike Sold both pitbikes! Somewhat regret the sale but they needed work anyway. Made all my money back, plus more anyway.
• Fix the generator! Mostly fixed, it starts and runs, jut a little loud.
• Finish the Nitro site
• Go to the bank and sort out my card (It expires soon) I got sent a new key card and set up a debit/credit card too!
• Take my MTB bike in for a service Took them two tries to service it and they still didn’t do a good job. At least my brakes work a lot better now (i.e. I can stop quickly!). $65 + Free chain and brake cable also, because they screwed up.
• Go for regular (Tri-weekly) rides from Burleigh to Surfers
• Start another site! (Maybe MoM, MythBuster related, maybe more!)
• Nerf Gun “Revolver Rifle” Lost interest
• Finish all the Donkey Kong Country and DK64 games.

Hopefully I can sell the pitbikes and generator which will help buy a new road bike.

Red Bull, the creator of all the cool events and sponsor of all the cool athletes. Not to mention they created one fine beverage! Also, they have a cool logo.

I’m not much of a movie person, but I do enjoy a good soundtrack. I recently (a few months ago, so maybe not so recently) watched Moon. And I loved it so much I got the soundtrack which was done by Clint Mansell. It was an excellent addition to my collection. Now much more recently I was watching Topgear, in particular the Polar Special and me being me, I was caught by this piece of music which was often played during those, for lack of a better word, ‘epic’ moments. This song was called Lux Aeterna.

Upon listening on YouTube I was amazed by how good it was in full as the Topgear Special only played parts when it needed. Soon there after I had the whole album from which it came from which, funnily enough was actually the soundtrack to an old movie (10 years now) called Requiem for a Dream. Surprise, surprise, the music was composed by Clint Mansell. Now I still haven’t listened to that fully since I thought “Hey, this song is awesome, perhaps the movie will be too!” And I was watching it within a day of hearing that first song.

The movie was… how should I say this… screwed up! Not that it was bad, as it gets its message across quite well. It was just so riveting in the way it animated some key elements. Now I don’t want to write a book review (My attempt at humour. Context; it is based on a book) but I am merely telling of the coincidence of me finding another good soundtrack (from the songs I have heard) which was by the same guy who made another one of my favourite soundtracks! I will, however, say this; Requiem for a Dream has reminded me why I have not and will not ever take drugs. If you haven’t seen it, go ahead, it gives a nice insight into the drug world and how it is so… bad.

One thing I dislike about YouTube is how people with good content don’t make the top ranks while others with relatively poor content do. A typical case of this is the channel Fred. I have watched about 2 full videos, but attempted to watch others with unsuccessful results and was thinking to myself, “who would watch this and why has a million people subscribed to this?”

Don’t get me wrong, the kid is a genius for coming up with the story and making a consistant series but I don’t see how this is funny or where the incentive is to subscribe. For this reason it frustrated me that Fred was number one until just a day or two ago. NigaHiga, who produces funny content, regained the number one spot again. I think he had it before at one point, I can’t remember.

The margin is only 3000 subscribers (Hey! That’s how many I had!) so it could still reverse. It would be interesting to see how many YouTube accounts there are and what percentage are subscribed to these channels. I have actually subscribed to NigaHiga on my personal account because of the reasons stated before. It’s also nice to see large corporations, specifically record labels not dominating the Most Subscribed list because they don’t produce content which belongs on YouTube.

To the contrary, look at the most viewed rankings and majority of the channels are record labels or music associated acts. It’s disappointing to try and see who has got (and most likely deserved) the views of top channels and to see good content when it is spammed by music videos. All music videos do is give a reason for the music in to be played on TV, go to Last.FM or Pandora for that stuff.

My channel is RhysIsKindaCool if you want to subscribe, no videos yet though, it’s mainly for subscriptions, I am unsure if I will post my videos again on YouTube or not. Time will tell.

Well as stated in my last post I have been expecting my account to be closed for some time. The final straw was an x Games 14 MotoX Best Trick mashup I posted. ESPN wasn’t very happy about it. I guess deleting 5 videos didn’t cut it. Anyways I don’t even feel like I lost something because I have been working on an even better project (this site’s video section).

I will have all my videos plus more posted on this site as soon as I can. I’ll have to upload them at University since their speed is…. fast. Honestly, YouTube is not the place for my sort of videos. I understand I own nothing and don’t claim the video nor music but the editing is mine. Anyway the stats were:

• 3150+ Subscribers
• Over 5 million views on non-deleted videos
• 70k+ Channel views
• Account Created: August, 2006
• Account Closed: August. 2009
• Videos: Approx. 50-80 (total over the years)
• Former YouTube Partner

Obviously I can’t get exact stats since I don’t have access to my channel anymore, these are from memory.

Transformers 2 Poster

I’m sure everybody has seen it, and right off the bat I’m gonna say it was average. These following words will sum up the whole movie: Big explosions, Panning shots of large areas and slow motion. The plot was nothing short of a failure in my opinion. Even after watching the first movie days prior I had no idea what was happening when the movie began. The prior movie didn’t even give a lead on to a sequel yet explain further plot elements.

Through out the whole movie I was trying to figure not what would happen next (that is pretty obvious) but who was fighting who. When the machines tackle each other it becomes nothing short of a mess. I also never knew Autobots could fuse together and Decepticon could turn good; I’m sure they could have come up with another, more interesting way to figure out what the symbols meant.

The movie takes a stab at some humour but I hardly laughed because of the jokes, instead laughing at the stupidity of the film. Michael Bay’s films are nothing more than what was described before; explosions, slow mo and huge panning shots. Transformers has been transformed into something else than what I and every one else thought it was.

Here a few things I couldn’t understand:

• Why is there so much damage to cities yet people seem to fall for a cover up
• With today’s technology if a robot walked down the street it would be all over the web in 10 minutes
• How come the old Decepticon/Autobot could travel to Egypt instantly yet everyone else just drives or flies
• Since when could Decepticons be humans and how come there is only one?

Those are just a few of my questions. It may just be that I haven’t read enough comics – I will admit I’m not a total  Transformers fan but I will see the film nevertheless. In my opinion I give it a 6/10. Hardly worth any praise. The story was probably picked from a school writing contest.

The best parts to the film were of Reggie Simmons, some of the things he said as well as the actions had me laughing despite the illogical nonsense going on. He was the former CIA agent of Sector 7.

IQ Test Fails

Here’s something that makes me wonder how the people who made this passed school. First, the story. I was quite bored so I decided to click on one of those ads on Facebook offering an “IQ Test”. As expected I was led off site but still bored enough to answer some questions knowing I would have to likely sign up to something to receive my “IQ” back. Anyway, this was Question 4 (pictured).

I was actually going to click 100 (which is wrong) until the most basic of mathematics kicked in. Multiplication before Addition. To make sure I wasn’t insane I check with my calculator and sure enough (6 + 4 x 10) = 46. No surprises there.

For those interested it would have to be (6+4) x 10 to answer 100 and impossible to get 50 or 75.

Well I haven’t been editing many videos lately but what I have been doing is making this theme called RubiX (I say Rubi -X, you can call it whatever you want!). Hopefully soon you’ll be able to download it (for free) just as soon as WordPress approves it to enter their themes directory. It’s better to have it there so it gets more exposure and is kept up to the standards. Check out the themes page is the next week if you’re interested.

Haven’t been making many video lately for one main reason. YouTube is getting the squeeze on copyrighted content and doing the good ol’ “only allowed in these countries” act. Sadly my viewership as dropped by half from this. Meaning a) I’m not going up the rankings anymore (more like going down) and b) Half my audience is gone. When I get some more time/motivation I’ll get back into it
